Offshore Mileage Builder: Grenada to Antigua

  • Port Louis Marina St.George's Grenada (map)

2 spots left

Come get a taste of offshore sailing amongst the Windward Islands of the Caribbean! We are repositioning Panacea X from Grenada north to Antigua for the remainder of the racing season, providing a great opportunity to gain night sailing hours, offshore helming and navigation and about 350 nautical miles of warm water sailing.

Sailors should expect to participate fully in the running of the boat and will get experience with a wide variety of skills and conditions, with none of the stress of doing it on your own.

We will put in one or two rest stops along the way, depending on conditions. We may or may not have the opportunity to get ashore on these stops, as clearing customs can be a very time consuming task on some islands! If we do not go ashore, we would be moored for a good sleep, optional swim and then carry on our way.

Pre-Requisites

Sailing experience to a Competent Crew level is required, but to a Day Skipper level is recommended.

Logistical Note

Crew will join the boat in Port Louis Marina, St.George’s, Grenada on the morning of February 6. Crew will depart the boat at Antigua Yacht Club, Falmouth on the evening of February 12.

About life on board

This week is an offshore delivery, with the ultimate goal to get Panacea X safely to Antigua on schedule for the RORC Caribbean 600. One thing this offshore mileage builder is not, is a luxury passenger vacation. Your skipper cannot do all things every day, so it’s important to come ready to pitch in and help with all the day- to-day tasks necessary to keep the boat neat and tidy and everyone fed and happy. Everyone should be prepared to take a turn preparing a meal, taking care of dishes, tidying up the cabin and we’ll work together to keep the boat ship shape throughout the cruise.
