Cruise 'n Learn 3: St.Martin & Surrounding Islands

  • Marigot St Martin (map)

2 SPOTS LEFT!

We’re thrilled to offer a unique Cruise ‘n Learn week based out of beautiful St.Martin.

Our cruising itinerary is dependent on conditions, but a circumnavigation of the island of St.Martin/St.Maarten with visits to the neighbouring islands of Anguilla, St.Barth’s and/or Saba are all options on the table. This part of the Caribbean offers a distinctive European flavour amidst the spectacular scenery of volcanic islands and white sand beaches dotted with palm trees… and excellent sailing in between!

In March, you can expect an average of 15-20 knots easterly wind in between the islands, with more gentle breeze on the leeward side of each island. This makes for exciting sailing between islands as we rocket-reach along, riding the big ocean swells. It’s a phenomenal learning opportunity to practice helming and trim for optimal control in real waves.

There are also fantastic opportunities to practice navigation skills, anchoring techniques, and generally build on whatever sailing skills you are bringing with you on day 1. Our focus is very much on safety, followed by having the best sailing holiday possible!

About life on board

Each day will involve half to a full day of sailing, depending on our mood and goals that day. The rest of the time will be spent anchored somewhere exquisite, swimming (often with turtles!), going for a hike, or otherwise exploring the environment around us.

One thing this cruise is not, is a luxury passenger vacation. Your skipper cannot do all things every day, so it’s important to come ready to pitch in and help with all the day- to-day tasks necessary to keep the boat neat and tidy and everyone fed and happy. Everyone should be prepared to take a turn preparing a meal, taking care of dishes, tidying up the cabin and we’ll work together to keep the boat ship shape throughout the cruise.
