Being able to provide first aid on board is a vital skill for any sailor. At sea, even in our close-to-home coastal adventures, we’re in a naturally higher risk environment and farther from help than in our normal lives on land. That means we have a responsibility to our fellow crew to be able to provide basic first aid in case of injury or other medical emergency, until professional help arrives on scene.
Marine Basic First Aid with CPR/AED Level C is a Transport Canada certification issued directly by the Red Cross. Sea to Sky is thrilled to be partnering with an experienced training provider in order to deliver this course specifically tailored to the sailing world, using scenarios and examples drawn from several lifetimes of sailing experience in a wide variety of situations. Gain all the Marine Basic First Aid and CPR skills in a course that acknowledges the severe constraints posed by being underway on a regular sailing yacht and get ideas on how to best preserve life in this challenging environment.
